Bryte Insurance Company Limited (Bryte) is ramping up its efforts to support the fight against COVID-19. Heeding the call of President Ramaphosa, the company announced that its executive team has pledged to forego a sizeable percentage of their salaries from April to June 2020. Additionally, Bryte has extended this call for financial support to employees across its business.

“As a business committed to empowering communities and actively engaging in the fight against COVID-19, we are extremely proud of the innovation and resourcefulness displayed by our employees in recent weeks as well as the various contributions made (both financial and non-financial), to date. I am delighted by the overwhelmingly positive response to our call within the business and it gives me great pleasure to announce that all employee financial contributions will be matched equally by Bryte, from April to June 2020,” said Edwyn O’Neill, CEO of Bryte.

Bryte has also assisted customers across its specialist lines of business with a variety of relief mechanisms totalling more than R2 million.

Hospitality Industry: Understanding that the hospitality industry continues to be among the hardest hit during these times, Bryte was the first to announce three-months of premium payment relief for hospitality industry customers and has deferred renewal adjustments. In recent weeks, more than 100 hospitality customers have been assisted with premium relief and a substantial number of business interruption claims due to lost bookings, has been recorded.

Commercial Transport Sector: With the commercial transport sector being one of the most integral engines of the economy, Bryte has offered flexible, bespoke insurance aimed at providing significant financial relief to customers with fleets that are not operational (either partially or fully).

Private Households: Understanding that a considerable percentage of South Africans are unable to earn an income during the lockdown, Bryte has made provisions for customers looking to suspend/reduce household contents and motor vehicle insurance covers over the next three months.

“We continue to actively engage with customers and partners to provide support as well as the most feasible and sustainable solutions to ensure the resilience of their business. We encourage every South African to please support COVID-19 relief efforts in whatever way possible. Please keep safe and adhere to government directives so that we can defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, united as a country and as global citizens,” concluded O’Neill.
