COVER’s Tony van Niekerk recently had the opportunity to catch up with Liza Morris, president of the Insurance institute of the Western Cape (IIWC).
Liza told Tony that one of the IIWC’s core pillars is that of Giving, which involves giving back to the community by way of supporting nominated charities. She went on to explain that the 2020 pandemic lockdown put immense stress on the poor communities of our country as well as the IIWC charities; food being the most critical call coming through with urgency. With this greater need and challenges with the current environment and how things are done, due to lockdown restriction, the IIWC Covid 19 Charity Challenge was born.
The #IIWC is calling on the whole insurance community ( Insurance companies, brokers, suppliers and individual members) to join them in raising funds for those in dire need.
They are challenging you, your company and your community to come together and support the charities that give hope to people and animals during this tough and challenging time. They are raising funds and we need your help to challenge people to do the same to raise our goal of R500 000.
In the video below, Liza talks about IIWC’s COVID-19 Charity Challenge.
