MiWay announces two senior appointments

MiWay has appointed Phillip Mojapelo as CFO and Tselane Halata as Head of Procurement.

We are delighted with this latest move – we know both individuals very well as these are internal appointments.”

Phillip Mojapelo joined MiWay in 2018 as a financial manager and joined the company’s management committee when he was promoted to Head of Finance in 2019. As a Chartered Accountant, he holds qualifications in BCom Accounting Sciences from the University of Pretoria, a BCompt Honours/CTA from UNISA and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administrations from the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He has over 10 years’ experience, having served his articles at SizweNtsaluba VSP followed by seven years at Nedbank. Before joining MiWay, he also worked for a London-listed financial services company, Atlas Mara. He assumed his new role as CFO and joined the company’s executive committee on 1 December 2021.

Tselane Halata

Tselane Halata was formerly MiWay’s General Manager: Procurement, Assessing & Legal. With 18 years’ experience in non-life insurance, she has held various senior roles before joining MiWay, including senior claims manager at SA Taxi Insurance and Head of Liabilities at Zurich Insurance. She is currently Chairperson of the SAIA Motor Steering Committee and was formerly a board member of the Johannesburg Business Forum.  She is a recipient of the Nelson Mandela Bronze and Silver Presidential Award and holds qualifications in Financial Management and Public Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Unisa. She completed the General Management Programme with the Gordon Institute of Business Sciences and is a qualified paralegal with the South African Law School. She assumed her new role and joined the company’s management committee on 1 October 2021.
