<p>At the 8^th annual Momentum Pink ODI, Momentum announced the rekindling of its landmark sponsorship of the South African women’s national cricket team. As the Proteas Women’s first significant sponsor from 2013 to 2018, the financial services brand has renegotiated a two-year contract with Cricket South Africa to sponsor the team, again to be officially known as the “Momentum Proteas”.</p>

<p>Chief Marketing Officer at Momentum, Nontokozo Madonsela said, “Although this is a new contract, we have had an incredible journey together. When this partnership began in 2013, the team had no contracted players. By end of the sponsorship’s first term, all 13 players were contracted. What an achievement.”</p>

<p>Support for the Momentum Proteas falls in line with Momentum’s ever-growing support of women in South Africa, demonstrated by its #NoApologyForMySuccess campaign launched during Women’s Month in August 2019.</p>

<p>“This is why we have found a strategic alignment for us as a business and a renewed passion for supporting women in sport,” said Madonsela. “The achievements of our national women’s team are a shining example of success despite all odds.”</p>

<p>Madonsela added that Momentum’s sponsorship was a major contributor to helping the team raise its ranking from amateur status to 4^th in the world.</p>

<p>Similarly to 2013, this new sponsorship comes on the eve of a major tournament, this time it is the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup set to be held in Australia from 21 February to 8 March 2020.</p>

<p>“To be associated with such incredible female talent is very special and the timing couldn’t be better. They are off to the World Cup in a few weeks after a victorious ODI serious in New Zealand, which they won three / nil,” said Madonsela.</p>
