What is Roots & Wings?

Roots & Wings is a unique mentorship programme proudly brought to you by the Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG), made possible by the passionate support from Sasria SOC, with contributions from Emerald, Discovery and OMI.

The programme provides mentees with a competitive edge, and access to experienced and well- travelled professionals within the short-term insurance industry.

Through this programme you can tap into your mentor’s extensive experience which will help in shaping your career, giving you the best possible opportunity to succeed.

Roots & Wings will connect you with a committed mentor who is passionate about the Insurance Industry & development. The mentor will invest their time and energy to help you navigate through an ever changing and competitive industry. To ensure success, the IIG has also partnered with a trusted and professional service provider (Linda Coetzee & Associates) to assist in pairing you with a suitable mentor and guide both you and your mentor through this programme.

For the Mentees

Your IIG is looking for you!! We would like to invite you to be a part of the IIG’s Roots & Wings Mentorship Programme!

We’ll take you on an exciting 6-month mentorship journey with impact, where you’ll be encouraged and challenged to push boundaries and break those glass ceilings. This is a great opportunity for accelerated personal growth and development.

How much time does the programme take up?

  • Programme Launch
  • 1⁄2 day kick-off training & briefing session
  • Pairing Event
  • At least 1 hour a month engaging with your mentor
  • Review Sessions
  • 1 touch point session for all mentor and mentee participants 
  • Programme Close Out

Call to action & next steps

  • Express your interest to be a mentor/ mentee to by 29th January 2021
  • Prospective mentees are to also complete the application form
  • We will inform you whether your application has been successful, and you’ll join the rest of the mentees and mentors to embark on this exciting journey.
  • A delegate registration fee of R2 700.00 (payable on acceptance only)

*All Mentors and Successful Mentees will be hosted at the official programme launch on the 11th February 2021, immediately followed by the mentor briefing and mentee training.
