Paul will delve a little deeper into some science behind decision-making and what chemicals are being released by your adrenal glands when you make decisions under different circumstances. He will also zoom into investment decisions by exploring the concept of “risk behaviour” that deconstructs our decision making when faced with the tricky construct of “risk”.
Paul will further explore the topics of Neurobiology, Behavioural Finance and Prospect Theory. The agenda for this session will cover:

Paul Nixon, CFP®
Paul heads up behavioural finance for Momentum Investments. He established an applied behavioural finance capability for the business after experiencing both client and adviser investment behaviour for nearly 20 years with various South African insurers and Barclays Bank. He recently completed a masterclass in behavioural science at the renowned iNudgeYou Institute in Denmark.
Paul holds an MBA (with distinction) from Edinburgh Business School and is currently completing a Masters degree where he researching risk behaviour at Stellenbosch University. Paul is a registered member of the Swiss-based Global Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists (GAABS).
