Teaching video creation and presentation skills that are now must-have
Financial planners wanting to stand out and up skill in this virtual world can now benefit from a three-month online Video Creation Masterclass led by industry veterans Kate Holmes, CEO of Innovating Advice, and Adam Owen, Director and Head of Content at NextGen Planners, that runs 1 February – 30 April. The masterclass is aimed at anyone in financial services interested in using video to market their business, enhance their personal profile, or strengthen engagement with prospective and existing clients. All levels of experience are welcome.
“Everything that we’re doing now is through video, so it is imperative that we all learn how to create great content, build deeper relationships with clients, and attract more of our ideal clients in this virtual world,” said Kate Holmes, CEO of Innovating Advice. “When you can’t be there in person to celebrate milestones with clients, express sympathy, connect authentically or build trust and rapport, the next best thing is through video.”
In the first month of the masterclass, participants will learn how to build comfort and find their voice on camera, present confidently, and create short videos that authentically represent themselves and their business. The second month builds on these skills, giving advisers the technical confidence to choose the sound, video and lighting equipment that is going to help them shine online, with a focus on leveraging the tools and equipment at their disposal so no additional investment is required. In the final month, participants will learn how to plan and execute high-quality content. They will learn how to create engaging hooks, how to keep viewers’ eyes on their message and how to finish with a strong call to action.
“There are very few people producing the kinds of video content that can raise the profile of the profession and share the value of advice,” said Adam Owen, Director and Head of Content at NextGen Planners. “We often see corporate financial planning videos where a significant investment has been made in the production but the results can be wooden and inauthentic. Video today is meant to be immediate and with low-cost solutions and a little training, you can take away the pressure and be yourself on screen.”
