Each of the 8 participants from across the continent had a 3-minute slot to present their company, followed by a 2 minute Q&A. Ctrl will be going through to the next round of South Summit that will be held on 6-8 October in Madrid, Spain.

South Summit is a leading innovation platform which connects the most disruptive startups with worldwide investors and corporations seeking to improve their global competitiveness through innovation.

Ctrl is South Africa’s first independent short-term insurance advice app, designed to help consumers get multiple quotes, advice and cover from start to finish.

This innovative insurance platform allows users to compare quotes from up to 7 reputable insurance providers after entering their details only once. A policy comparison tool makes it easy to see the benefits and drawbacks of each insurance product, while a recommendation is made based on the user’s specific insurance requirements. Once a policy is selected, Ctrl automatically becomes their insurance advisor, available to help with claims, queries and emergencies.

Ctrl also offers traditional brokerages the possibility to transform their business into a digital insurance advisor within weeks. This allows them to connect with their customers digitally and to enhance their brokerage by creating scale in their practice and increasing their reach, improving compliance risk management and cost structures, as well as creating greater advisor efficiency.

Ctrl was founded 2 years ago by Pieter Venter, Pieter Erasmus and Francois Venter. The app was developed to take the hassle out of getting and accepting quotes. There’s no need to talk to call centres or see brokers face to face. Everything is done through the app, from start to finish.
