Applications now open for the IRMSA Student Mentorship Programme

Take a bold step career step in 2020 by enrolling for the IRMSA student mentorship programme

IRMSA is excited to announce the introduction of a mentorship programme to identify and nurture the potential of our risk management students.

The mentorship programme is envisaged to link experienced risk professionals with a mentee – an IRMSA Student Member.

Mentoring is an indefinite, relationship based activity with several specific but wide ranging goals and may not have to be a formal process.

The agenda is open and continues to evolve over the longer term.

The objective will therefore seek to build wisdom – the ability to apply skills, knowledge and experience to new situations and processes.

Furthermore, the objective of the mentor will be to act as an ‘accountability partner’ who works in their mentee’s best interests.

It is envisaged that he or she will bring a new approach to either a specific skill or an entire career.

The success of the programme will be dependent on clearly defined objectives, an agreed plan of action and act as a replacement for conventional training.

Therefore, both the mentor and the mentee will be required to be committed to the programme.
