Description:

We are looking for a Key Individual, with at least 10 years’ experience in managing a short-term insurance brokerage, with at least 10 years’ middle management and general short-term insurance experience. F&I experience will be advantageous. This person will assume leadership of the organization, by being accountable for the overall management of all functions, growth and profitability, assuming accountability for the legislative, regulatory and binder compliance. This person will ensure the strategic relevance, maintains it competitive advantage, ensure corporate governance, sound financial management,  key-stakeholder engagements, lead and nurture the management team and report to EXCO.

Job Specifications:

  • Develop a strategic annual budget
  • Manage the organization, as per the approved annual budget
  • Ensure the profitability of the insurers’ binders
  • Fiduciary responsibilities and authorization mandates are adhered to
  • Ensure the implementation of strategic objectives
  • Ensure that Policies and Procedures remain current and ensure adherence
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant / applicable legislation
  • Ensure that MANCO is empowered through mentoring / coaching and relevant interventions;
  • Providing support and guidance to MANCO regarding quality assurance and delivery;
  • Ensure the development and implementation of internal SLA’s
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant strategic stakeholders;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure the profitability of the cell captive facilities
  • Ensure that fiduciary responsibilities and authorization mandates are adhered to
  • Assume accountability for the compliance with legislative, regulatory, industry, ethics and best practice requirements of the Management Key Individual
  • Ensure the implementation of an annual competitive strategic framework, with relevant strategic objective and operational plans
  • Ensure that policy wordings and ratings remain updated
  • Establish the viability and need of new insurers / or products as per the FAIS Act
  • Management of conflict of interest in terms of all insurer, supplier, outsourced and staff remuneration
  • Lead excellence in continuous improvement
  • Lead best practices for understanding of the portfolio to provide effective guidance to our clients
  • Ensure effective portfolio management

Requirements:

  • Willing to travel and relocate to KZN
  • SA citizen
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A systematic, process and detail-oriented and team attitude
  • NQF 4 qualification
  • FAIS compliant
  • Regulatory Exam – Representative
  • Regulatory Exam – Key Individual
