Group continues to bolster its investment team as part of its drive to fuel future growth
STANLIB is pleased to announce the appointment of Rademeyer Vermaak as Head of Portfolio Management to its Index Investments team, effective 1 December 2019. Together with Portfolio Managers, Ann Sebastian and Ryan Basedeo, Rademeyer will be responsible for overseeing client portfolios and managing assets of over R50 billion.

He brings 15 years of specialist markets experience to the role, and his background in quantitative and derivative strategies will be instrumental in bolstering our strategic capability. Rademeyer’s appointment is the latest in a number of high-profile recruits who continue to strengthen the quality, depth, and performance of our investment teams.”
Rademeyer brings extensive experience to the role, with eight years driving quantitative research and software development in the UK, in senior positions at institutions including Radian Consulting, Mansard Capital, and Liquid Capital Markets. After returning to South Africa in 2012, he founded Fairtree Quants with a focus on long-only and long-short equity quantitative and derivative strategies. He also led Risk Management across all Fairtree Funds.

The investment team within STANLIB Index Investments will now consist of three highly skilled and experienced portfolio managers, supported by three quant analysts managing assets of over R50 billion.
Rademeyer holds a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria and is a CFA charter holder.
