Renasa Insurance Company
Renasa’s History
Renasa was established in 1998 by the international Reliance National Group. Following its restructure in 2004, Renasa has developed into an A- rated short-term/non-life insurer servicing independent intermediaries and UMAs with a broad product range.
Renasa's Progress
Its national footprint and industry-leading technology has lead to steady growth over a number of years and an annualised gross premium income approaching R1.5 billion.
Renasa's Recognition
Between 2017 and 2019 the Financial Intermediaries Association (“FIA”) has twice judged Renasa to be the Commercial Insurer of the Year and twice judged Renasa to be the Personal Lines Insurer of the Year. On two occasions, once in the Commercial category and once in the Personal Lines category, Renasa has been a finalist in the FIA’s awards. Of the maximum potential of six awards for which Renasa was eligible between 2017 and 2019, Renasa has ranked ahead of all its competitors on five occasions. The surveys on which the awards are based are both independent and robust and judges insurers on equal footing in open company. Renasa’s performance in these awards emphatically confirms Renasa’s position among the industry’s leading insurers and its coming of age.

IBG Underwriting Managers
The need in today’s ever changing market with regards to legislation and strict compliance environment for advisers, has seen more PI claims as well as the higher excess structures been implemented in the market. The market has seen an increase in claims as a result of the economic conditions, and client education through the open media highlighting a client’s rights.PI cover is a legal requirement set down by the FSB for all FSP’s, as the need for redress has become more prevalent for the clients protection because of incorrect advice and services. PI is there to indemnify the FSP for any Negligent Act, error or omission. This can be for both “Advice and Intermediary services”, and an indication of the difference is whereby a client instructs an FSP to add a vehicle and the FSP fails to act, should a loss incur, this would be seen as an intermediary service.
