MoyaApp makes phone repair insurance easy and affordable for the mass-market
Millions of MoyaApp users can now get additional peace of mind from as little as R15 per month, thanks to easy, affordable phone repair insurance via the app.
MoyaApp, the #datafree super app with over four million users, has partnered with the Root digital insurance platform and Monitor Administrators, underwritten by Guardrisk, to make mobile repair insurance readily available to anyone. Root’s insurance platform acts as the “operating system” that made it possible for Monitor to easily expand its insurance and administrative support systems to enable the product to be embedded in MoyaApp.
The new mobile phone repair insurance takes care of everyday phone repairs, regardless of the age or value of the phone. MoyaApp users can get a quote, sign up for insurance cover, claim via the MoyaApp, and pay premiums using their MoyaPay wallet.
Nicholas Bednall, Chief Commercial Officer at Moya, says this brings phone repair insurance within reach of millions of South Africans for the first time. “For many ordinary South Africans, if their phone breaks because it was dropped, or it gets water damaged, the only alternative was to pay expensive repair costs themselves, or wait until they had saved enough money to buy another smartphone,” he says.
