Turning insurance learners into insurance leaders

By: Constantia Insurance

Legends In Training (LIT) is a qualification programme providing young, ambitious candidates with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape their future in the insurance industry.

Through this unique initiative, participants who are passionate about insurance will be selected for the programme, where they will learn valuable skills and gain essential knowledge in short-term insurance. While LIT provides an essential foundation in insurance, it also enables the participants to kick-start their careers in the industry.

This initiative was launched through a collaboration between Constantia Insurance Company, LCJ Group and the National Community Radio Forum (NCRF), supported by local radio stations Kasie and Thetha FM and facilitated by the Graduate Institute of Financial Sciences (GIFS).

“At Constantia we care about the future of our country and the young minds that will lead us there. While this is an opportunity for the learners to change their lives, it will also benefit their communities and ultimately the country,” says Motseki Majake, General Manager of Life and Funeral at Constantia Insurance Company. “We’re delighted to be part of an inspiring programme that helps us deliver on our promise of making insurance personal, by helping these learners turn their career dreams into reality.”

“We identified a need in the community and saw an opportunity to partner with organisations who also see the potential in South Africa’s youth,” says LCJ Group CEO Jimmy Makgato. “We are thrilled that we can provide the youth in Vosloorus and Orange Farm with skills development and training opportunities, and we can’t wait to roll out the LIT qualification programme to communities across our country.”
